Mike Murray is telling it like it is this week over at FathomSEO. Mike recounts how a business executive asked him why web analytics is so important to natural search engine optimization. He wanted to say “it’s a no-brainer,” but he went on to explain: web analytics is about optimal rankings and strategic decisions - not just what you can settle for when you have limited success working with limited information. He went on to list some of the virtues of web analytics in his blog.

I agree with Mike wholeheartedly. You’ve got to have a good web analytics tool if you hope to gauge the success of your SEO, your SEM or any other type of traffic-generating initiatives you are doing online. It is, indeed, a no-brainer. Thanks for telling it like it is and helping to educate hard working folks about the realities of web analytics’ relation to natural search engine optimization.
